MARY M. POULTON: ROBERT EARLL MCCONELL AWARD
The American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers (AIME) presented the Robert Earll McConnell Award to Mary M. Poulton for “significant contributions in mineral and engineering education and innovations addressing real and challenging occupational training problems.”
Poulton is distinguished professor emerita in mining and geological engineering and director emerita of the Lowell Institute for Mineral Resources at the University of Arizona. More on the award

ISABEL F. BARTON: OUTSTANDING YOUNG PROFESSIONAL AWARD
The Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME) presented the Outstanding Young Professional Award to Isabel F. Barton “for her technical expertise leading to significant contributions in the geometallurgy field specializing in interdisciplinary minerals research, leadership in technical and scientific organizations and recruitment efforts to the mining and geological engineering department at the University of Arizona.”
Barton is assistant professor of mining and geological engineering at the University of Arizona. More on the award
