Edward Wellman
Edward Wellman is a highly experienced mining and geological engineer with over 25 years of expertise in rock mechanics, slope stability, underground mining, and geotechnical analysis. He holds multiple
engineering and geology licenses and has led or consulted on major mining and civil infrastructure projects across North and South America, Asia, and Europe. His academic contributions include teaching core courses such as Geomechanics, Tailings Design, and Fracture Mechanics, with consistently high teaching evaluations.
Wellman actively advises student design teams, supports university-industry partnerships, and serves as a program evaluator for ABET. His research and practice integrate field investigations, numerical modeling, and risk-based designs contributing to over a dozen peer-reviewed publications and numerous professional presentations.
