2023 School of Mining and Mineral Resources Photo Contest
A college education in a mineral resources discipline unlocks a world of opportunities and career paths! From traveling the world to work in one-of-a-kind locations to developing the latest technological advances in the field, there’s so many things graduates from UArizona’s engineering, geology, hydrology, and other programs get to achieve.
We asked alumni and current students of the programs to submit photos that best capture the University of Arizona's mining and minerals experience. We wanted to see some of the unique and exciting opportunities they had been or are a part of thanks to their career, and the things that make them love their jobs and degree!
This year's winner is "The Portal" photographed by geotechnical engineer Jason Hallowell. Hallowell was exiting the portal of the Hermosa Project after a geotechnical inspection, and used a camera he had from an experiment with photogrammetry to snap this photo.
