Student interested in becoming an industrial hygienist would first get a B.S. in Public Health following the Environmental and Occupational Health track. Students would then get a Master’s in Public Health, or MPH, following the Industrial Hygiene track. 

Job Description

Industrial Hygienists are responsible for identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace hazards to protect the health and safety of employees. They assess risks related to chemical, physical, and biological hazards, design control measures, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Industrial Hygienists work in industries like mining, manufacturing, and construction to create safer working conditions and prevent occupational diseases and injuries.

Advanced degrees: M.S. in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, or Public Health
