The GCE's Fundamentals of Open Pit Slope Design online professional development course, based on the the Large Open Pit Project's Guidelines for Open Pit Slope Design text, overviews the fundamental concepts and best practices for slope analysis and design throughout the life cycle of an open pit mine from project concept through closure. Participants will be provided with the knowledge to aid in the investigation and design process, as well as guidelines for appropriate methods of data collection, processing, and analysis, all with the goal of designing and maintaining stable and economical slopes.
