Who Can Become a Member?

  • Current faculty members or research scientists with primary appointments at the University of Arizona. 

  • Invited Designated Campus Colleagues with active appointments at the University of Arizona. 

  • Applicants must have an active research and/or teaching program and a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration with UArizona faculty, researchers, and staff. 

  • Membership requires the approval of the applicant’s home department head.

Membership Requirements
  • Hold a faculty or research scientist position with a primary appointment at the University of Arizona, or be an invited Designated Campus Colleague with an active appointment. 
  • Maintain an active research and/or teaching program. 
  • Demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration within UArizona.
  • Contribute to the education, research, and service activities of SMMR, which may include guest lecturing, seminar presentations, mentoring, collaborative grant writing, conference participation, networking, and outreach events.
  • Obtain approval from your home department head.
  • Undergo membership review and renewal every three years, including submission of an updated CV/Biosketch, photo, and impact statement
